Mary and I were fortunate enough to travel to Eastern Europe with Unique European Travels Capitals tour for a once in a lifetime experience away from the traditional busy river cruise tourists. We started in Budapest and stayed in a great hotel near the Opera house. We loved the day tour of Buda with the Castle Hill, Fisherman’s Bastion and Matthias Church, and of Pest with stops at Hero’s Square and Parliament. Per your suggestion on our free time we saw the Opera house and The Jewish Historic district. It was fun to get out for a day in the countryside and visit Lake Balaton and Tihany. Vienna was a magical city with the Castle, Churches and Museums and we loved the trip up the Wachau Valley to Durnstein and the Melk Abbey, and the day trip to Slovakia and tour of Old Town Bratislava. As an avid golfer and a person who has been in that business all my life I had done all the normal Europe bucket list golf trips and was curious about the golf in these countries. All the courses, Pannonia (Hungary), Schloss Schonborn (Austria), Penati (Slovakia) and Karlstejn (Czech Republic) far exceeded my expectations and gave me new bragging rights. Prague does have 1000 spires and amazed us with all the varied and pristine architecture from Nouveau to Baroque, renaissance, Cubist, Gothic, Neo Classical and on to ultra- modern. Thank you also for the extra days you arranged for us after the tour in upper Slovakia and the Czech Republic including golf at Konopiste and Black Stork. We are looking forward to traveling again with you soon.
