Wales is truly a land rich in history with its' Celtic culture and traditions showcasing its' outstanding natural beauty. There is an ever changing landscape of mountains, moorland, forests, wide river valleys and small fishing villages, rugged coasts, beaches and towns. The Welsh culture comes from its' Celt, Roman, and Anglo Saxon history. Wales has some of the warmest and friendliest people I've ever met. Wales may be small in size but comes up big when compared to its' more famous neighbors. As a country, Wales features a wide-ranging variety of courses, each with its own spectacular topography. Golf in Wales is very affordable, golf as it should be-relaxing, scenic and un- crowded. Regardless of who you are or where you are from, you will be given a big Welsh welcome on the nearly 200 golf courses to be found in Wales.

Our Great Golf Courses

Aberdovey

Aberdovey-Golf-Course
Founded in 1892 this classic links challenge is located on the west coastline, and features dramatic coastal views. Beautiful natural dune land borders the perimeter of the course separating it from the Dyfi Estuary and the Irish Sea. On this wild and windswept course you'll find bunkers with challenging lips, deep grass borders, undulating fairways, and blind shots. The classic rail link that runs along the course reminds you of a bygone time when trains delivered traveling golfers. Bring your best game and enjoy.

Ashburnham

Ashburnham
This course, founded in 1894, is a straight out and back true links design. This historic demanding venue starts out with a tough par three and never looks back as it takes you through the stunning seaside scenery. It is one of the favorite links courses in all of Britain and one of the oldest in Wales.
It has been the site of the British PGA and Senior championships and many other amateur and national tournaments.

Celtic Manor Resort

Celtic Manor Resort
From its' beginning as a residence of the high sheriff in 1634 to the Manor House of 1860, once a maternity hospital, the manor was remodeled in 1982 into a hotel and became one of Wales' highest awarded hotels. In 1992 construction was started on a new 400 room hotel and two Robert Trent Jones golf courses and was finished in 1999. To host the 2010 Ryder Cup the "Twenty Ten" course was built. At nearly 7500 yards it features nine dramatic holes routed through the Usk Valley and nine re-fashioned holes from the original Wentwood Hills course. This new "non-traditional" course has holes with a links feel; a lake lined middle section and elevated closing holes.
There are two other tracts at the resort-The Montgomerie and the Roman Road- a course with captivating and challenging holes. Robert Trent Jones called this property "a bit of Augusta, a bit of Florida, and a lot of Wales.
Conwy-Golf-Course

Conwy

Designed by Jack Morris in 1875 and finished in 1895 it is the third oldest course in Wales. The course was closed in WWI & WWII and those demands and use necessitated the re-design and construction of many of the holes. Its' excellent layout with sea and majestic mountain views makes it hard to concentrate on golf. The mountain backdrop, verdant, sometime narrow fairways and tiered greens, offer ample opportunities for "risk/reward" decisions.

Harlech Royal St. David's

Founded in 1894 its' history, mountain views and sea "breezes" define this links course that occupies the dune land between Harlach, the forbidding Castle, and the sea. Standing on top of a sheer precipice of rock, this rugged and tough par 69 layout rambles in all directions across flat and often open ground. The final holes run through "rippling and undulating dune land, and then close with a tough par three. The "Royal" designation was granted by Edward VII in 1908.

This course, founded in 1896, is spectacular and overlooks the sandy beaches of Oxwich and Three Cliffs Bays and meanders alongside the ruins of a 12th century Norman Castle. The holes, surrounded by gorse and heather, are routed through classic undulating links land full of hammocks and hollows featuring small carefully placed bunkers. Expect a warm Welsh welcome.

Royal Porthcawl

royalporthcawlFirmly among the world’s top golf courses it is “golf as it once was” down to a creaking club house that is as unchanged as its magnificent links.
