A Great Getaway to experience the best of Bavaria. This sample itinerary features Munich, Garmisch Partenkirchen & renowned points in between! Dream, Discover, Explore. For decades, we have traveled the back roads of the world to introduce you to places, people and experiences that exist beyond your imagination. Singles, couples or groups - we specialize in meeting your goals and interests, budget and timeline, and exceeding your expectations. Day 1 (D) Arrive Munich airport (MUC). Transfer to, and check in at your hotel Enjoy a walking tour of Munich city…A great way to walk off your flight and acquaint yourself with the city, and then have dinner at the world famous Hofbrauhaus Beer Hall. Day 2 (BD) Visit the BMW Welt, Museum and Plant A guided tour of the BMW World of Experience, observe the production process and discover traditional and future trends at the museum. Enjoy lunch (not included) at one of the bistro restaurants. Undertake the BMW compact Training course (half Day)-(not included). Dinner will be at the Michelin starred restaurant EssZimmer and BMW transfer back to the hotel. Day 3 (B) Allianz Arena & Bavarian State Opera In the morning a visit and guided tour of the Allianz Arena - home to the world famous FC Bayern Munich. You will have a Bavarian State Opera experience that includes a behind the scenes tour of how it operates. The balance of the afternoon can be spent exploring Munich and Marienplatz. After dinner on your own you will return to the Opera house for a performance. Day 4 (B) Munich, Lake Chiemsee & Iconic Churches Today you will continue exploring Munich. During the day you will visit the Olympic stadium for a roof climb (very safe and easy), learn the history and take in the amazing views. An alternate for this The afternoon will be spent on a tour of famous churches…Frauenkirche, St. Peters Church, and Assamkirche. These all present a little different and spectacular architecture. Dinner will be on your own, and we can arrange a private tour of some of the famous but hidden back alley jazz clubs. Day 5 (BL) Garmisch Partenkirchen and Lake Starnberg Check out of your Munich Hotel to transfer to Garmisch Partenkirchen. On the way you will enjoy a lunch stop on the shores of beautiful Lake Starnberg. The balance of the day will be spent on your own exploring the quaint village. Dinner on your own. Day 6 (B) Schloss Nueschwanstein Today you will enjoy visits to (Mad) King Ludwigs world famous Schloss Nueschwanstein. You will have a guided tour of the castle that inspired the Disney centerpiece. You will also visit and tour nearby Hohenschwangau and the Museum of the Kings. Day 7 (BL) Zugspitze and Oberammergau Today you will visit Zugspitze via a cogwheel train from Lake Eibsee and three cable cars. This is Germany’s highest peak and home to three glaciers. You can enjoy lunch on the terrace. In the afternoon you will enjoy a visit to the colorful Heidi like village of Oberammergau famous for its woodcarvers, artists and buildings covered with frescoes. Day 8 (L) Departure Day Check out, pack up your memories and transfer to the Munich airport. We can add extra days of adventure to nearby Innsbruck or Salzburg Austria, lower Bavaria and the Danube River, The Black Forest and middle and lower Rhine river valley, or Prague.
